UDS Management Issues Warning To Admissions, Procurement And Recruitment Fraudsters
The Management of the University for Development Studies, UDS says it has has come to their attention that some unscrupulous persons have been sharing contacts and Mobile Money (MoMo) numbers with unsuspecting prospective applicants and the general public in the name of UDS and purporting such numbers to be UDS Admission Enquiries contacts and Mobile Money Numbers into which application fees as well as admission fees can be paid.
In a statement signed on behalf of the Registrar, Mr. Nurudeen Issah Abubakar, by the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Abdul Hayi Moomen, the Management said “all prospective applicants are advised to desist from dealing with persons (including staff of UDS) who may approach them on the pretext of assisting them gain admission for a fee”.
The statement continued that “for the avoidance of doubt, all application and admission fees are paid through the official bank accounts of the University at the following banks: Zenith Bank, Ecobank, Access Bank. NIB, ADB, Stanbic Bank, GCB Bank and Prudential Bank”.
Similarly, the statement indicated that has also come to the attention of Management of the University, that some individuals have been contacting unsuspecting people, offering them false contracts and false job opportunities with the University for Development Studies.
“We are taking this matter extremely seriously, and are currently working with the appropriate legal authorities to attempt to terminate these fraudulent schemes”, the statement added.
According to the statement, all persons who encounter such criminal elements should file a complaint with the Ghana Police and the Management of UDS for redress.
The statement ends by specifically emphasizing that the University has never assigned one Ms. Priscilla Ndenab to transact any business regarding admissions, recruitment or procurement on its behalf.
It therefore warned that UDS shall not be responsible for all liabilities or damages of any kind arising out of the “use of, reference to, or reliance on the false claims on the above named individual”.
