UDS Commences A 5-Day Training Workshop For Drivers
The Training and Development Unit of UDS in collaboration with the Department of Automotive Engineering of the Tamale Technical University has organised afFive-day Capacity Building Training Workshop for drivers of UDS. The five-day training seeks to build the capacities of the drivers and to help reduce risks and ensure safety at all times.
The training was also targeted at improving the university’s transport delivery system to make it one of the best transport systems in the country.
At the opening of the training, the Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Felix K. Abagale said drivers play an indispensable role within the university hence, the need to constantly tain them to be abreast of current trends in their profession.
He admonished the drivers to continue to serve the university in providing essential transport services to the university community to facilitate the growth, development and transformation of the institution.
The Registrar, Mr. Nurudeen Issah Abubakari urged the drivers to take the training serious as it would go a long way to help them in their work. He encouraged the drivers to pay keen attention to both the theory and practical components of the training. He added that, certificates of participation would be awarded to all participants and that would equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance their work.
Also present at the training was the Head of Training and Development, Mr Alhassan Abdul Mumin and the Head of Transport, Mr. Nashiru Shahadu.
