The Alumni Association of the University for Development Studies (UDS) has presented a cheque donation of Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc20,000.00) to the UDS Endowment Fund (UDSEF).

The gesture was in response to a request by the Board of Trustees of the UDSEF to the Association for support. The ceremony was held at the UDS Central Administration on Wednesday November 21, 2023.

The UDSEF, which was established on 30th April, 2022, aims to provide additional financial resources to support the university's goals, including scholarships, bursaries, tuition waivers, research grants, and facilities improvement. This financial support is crucial in enhancing the overall quality of teaching and learning at the University.

The President of the Alumni Association, Prof. Terry Ansah reiterated the commitment of the Association to continuously support the fund and any other priority projects at UDS.

The Registrar, Mr. Nurudeen I. Abubakar, who received the cheque on behalf of management, expressed his gratitude to the Alumni Association for their tremendous support to the Endowment Fund and other projects in UDS. He urged the Alumni to continue to support the Management of the University to achieve its mission of making UDS a world class university.

Some officials present at the ceremony were executives  of the Alumni Association including, the Financial Secretary, Mr. Eugene Tibirum and the Deputy Financial Secretary, Prof. Frederick Adzitey. Others were the Secretary to the UDSEF Fund, Mr. Abdul Rahman Alhassan, and the Head of the Alumni Relations Office of the Public Affairs Directorate, Mr. Tahiru Abdulai Alhassan.
