More Donate To University for Development Studies Endowment Fund (UDSEF)
More organisations and individuals continue to redeem the pledges they made at the launch of the University for Development Studies Endowment Fund (UDSEF) which came off on April 30, 2022. The latest to redeem their pledges is the UDS branch of the Ghana Universities Administrators Association (GAUA).
The Treasurer of GAUA-UDS Mr. Emmanuel Yelku-ang Dabuo has, on behalf of the Association, presented an amount of Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC2,000.00) to the UDSEF at the Central Administration in Tamale. The presentation was in line with the Association’s pledge as announced during the launch of the UDSEF.
Mr. Emmanuel Yelku-ang Dabuo said the Executives of the Association will continue to monitor the progress of the UDSEF, and as and when it becomes necessary, and when the Association’s financial situation improves, it will not hesitate to contribute more money to the fund.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hardi Imoro of the office of the Vice-Chancellors, Ghana (VCG) has also donated Two Hundred Ghana Cedis to the UDSEF as a fulfilment of the pledge he made at the launch of the fund.
Mr. Imoro says he shares in the vision of the University for Development Studies to impact lives make university education accessible to all persons regardless of their educational backgrounds.
The UDSEF aims to provide additional funds to supplement government’s efforts to ensure effective delivery of the University’s mandate. Among other things, the purpose of the fund includes scholarships, tuition waivers, research grants for students and faculty, additional facilities and resources and provision of equipment. To achieve this, the University hopes to raise 100 million Ghana Cedis in the next five years.
