In March 2023, when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo swore in three new members of the Electoral Commission (EC) governing board, prominent among the names, was that of Hajia Salima Ahmed Tijani, a proud alumna of the University for Development Studies, UDS.

Her appointment to the board of Ghana’s Electoral Commission, is in line with Article 43 (1 and 2) of the 1992 constitution which states that, “there shall be an Electoral Commission which shall consist of a Chairman, two Deputy Chairmen, and four other members. The constitution states further that.
