Management Staff Of Stanbic Bank Pays Courtesy Call On The Vice-Chancellor Of UDS
A five-member delegation from Stanbic Bank Ghana, led by the head of Business and Commercial Banking, Mr. Farihan Alhassan has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of UDS, Prof. Seidu Al-hassan in his office at the University’s Central Administration Block in Tamale.
The Stanbic Bank delegation also included, Mr. Benedict Obeng, Head Business Development and Origination- Business and Commercial Banking, Mr. Asare Richard, Head Public Sector, Business and Commercial Banking, Ms. Amartey Marian, Head Enablement & Digitalization, Business and Commercial Banking, and Mr. Osmond Amuah, Suite Manager- Northern Suite, Business and Commercial Banking.
The purpose of the visit was to congratulate Prof. Seidu on his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of the university. In addition, the visit aimed at thanking the Vice-Chancellor and the University Community for their continuous support and loyalty to the bank.
Mr. Farhan intimated that the Bank has intentions of setting up a scholarship Scheme that will provide financial assistance to brilliant but needy students of the University for Development Studies. He assured the Vice-Chancellor of the bank’s commitment to partnering with UDS to pursue its development agenda.
For his part, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Seidu Al-hassan thanked the delegation and the entire bank for the visit and commended them for the quality services and corporate social responsibilities they’ve been rendering to the Ghanaian public. He applauded the bank for the numerous intervention programmes and projects it continues to roll out in all sectors of the economy.
Prof. Seidu Al-hassan appealed to the Management of Stanbic Bank to consider investing in infrastructural development on University’s campuses. He explained that most public universities are currently facing infrastructural challenges due to the overwhelming number of qualified applicants in recent times.
The Vice-Chancellor appealed to the bank to help the UDS with the construction of an Ambulance Centre on the Dungu Campus to serve the university and its surrounding communities. He also called on the bank to support the university to complete work on its three-storey building project which will serve as the University Hospital when completed. He said the hospital will serve as a practical training ground for UDS Medical students and also serve the healthcare needs of surrounding communities.
Also present at the meeting from the university were the registrar, Mr. Nurudeen Issah Abubakar, The finance Director, Dr. Mohammed Hardi Shaibu, Head of Public Relations Mr. Abdul-Hayi Moomen and other representatives from the public Relations Office.
