Hollard Life Insurance Donates to The University for Development Studies Students Financial Aid Scheme
In a demonstration of corporate social responsibility, Hollard Life Insurance has answered the call from the Office of the Dean of Students at the University for Development Studies (UDS) by generously donating Eleven Thousand Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHc 11,500.00) to the Students Financial Aid Scheme.
Representatives from Hollard Life Insurance, with the Managing Director, Mr. Nashiru Iddrisu himself and accompanied by the Northern Regional Manager, Mr. Mutaru Abdul-Hamid, presented the cheque to Management at the Vice-Chancellor's Office.
Mr. Iddrisu highlighted the company's commitment to improving lives, stating, "At the core of our mandate is touching lives, and this donation aligns perfectly with our goal of enabling better futures."
Accepting the cheque on behalf of Management of the UDS was Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Seidu Al-Hassan, the Registrar, Mr. Nurudeen Issah Abubakar, Head of Protocol at the Directorate of Public Affairs, Mr. Ayuba Ibrahim and Dean of Students, Dr. Musah Alhassan.
"We are truly delighted by this generous gesture", expressed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Seidu Al-Hassan. He added "This contribution is not merely symbolic; it sets a strong foundation for corporate support within our university community. It's important to recognize that even the smallest acts can lead to significant impacts, and we assure you that these funds will directly benefit students in need." The Vice-Chancellor emphasized UDS's commitment to positively impacting student lives and surrounding communities through pro-poor policies aimed at holistic development.
Moreover, the Vice-Chancellor called upon individuals and other corporate bodies to emulate Hollard Life Insurance's example by extending similar gestures of support. "We encourage other organizations and individuals to join us in this noble cause of investing in education and uplifting our students," he remarked.
The money donated by Hollard Life Insurance, amounting to Eleven Thousand Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHc 11,500.00), is designated to support five students as pledged by the Dean of Students. This financial assistance will provide vital aid to deserving students, ensuring they have access to essential resources for their academic pursuits. The Students Financial Aid Scheme shows the university's commitment to fostering a supportive environment and empowering students to achieve their educational goals despite financial challenges which is rooted in the university’s pro-poor policies.
