Department Of Food Science and Technology Organizes Assessment Session For Final Year Students On Processing Plant Products
The department of Food Science and Technology in the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Sciences of the University for Development Studies organized an assessment session for their final year students in June, 2024.
As part of their end of trimister, the assessment constituted a panel of judges who served as their lectures and head of department. The students were grouped into 16 and each group had 8 members each. After the groupings where done, students had to brainstorm to development ideas of how to process various plants products.
On the exhibition day, each group presented their processed products to the panel for assessment and ideas where presented in power point under five (5) minutes. The panel was given 10 (Ten) minutes for questions.
Various groups came out with successful products such as Cupcakes, Gari Mix, Tomatoes Jam, Carrot Juice, Shea Butter, Tom Brown, Cookies, Coated Groundnut, Wasawasa, Potato Donuts, Instant Fonio Mix and so many amazing products.
