ADB Supports UDS@30 Edition of VC Business Innovation Awards With GHS 10,000
The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) on Thursday, July 28, 2022 presented a cheque for an amount of GHS10, 000 to the University for Development Studies in support of the Vice Chancellor’s Business Innovation Awards.
This year’s Business Innovation Awards forms part of series of activities lined up to commemorate the 30th Anniversary celebrations of the University.
The Area Manager of ADB Bank for Northern Region, Mr. Felix Eshun, presenting the cheque on behalf of Management of the bank, said the donation was in response to a request from the University for support towards the 3oth anniversary edition of BIIC Awards. He indicated that ADB had over the years, established a very cordial relationship with the University as a result of which the bank found it extremely necessary to show its respect and contribute to the successful Business Innovation and Incubation Awards that aims not only at unearthing the entrepreneurship potentials among young people, but also helping to reduce the unemployment rate in the country.
The Area Manager who was accompanied by the Tamale Main Branch Manager, Mr. Fredrik Opoku Yaw and Ms. Abiba Mahama, the Administration Officer, recollected that the bank had on two previous occasions, supported Vice-Chancellor’s BIIC Awards programmes adding that that Bank had committed to, not only support this year’s award with cash, but to also attend and actively participate in the events. He further assured the University of ADB’s support as and when it is called upon to deepen the ties between the two institutions.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gabriel Ayum Teye, expressed his excitement for the support and assured the bank that their support will be duly acknowledged. On a light noted, he added that going forward, the BIIC Awards, will become synonymous with the ADB Bank.
The brief presentation ceremony took place in the office of the Vice-Chancellor and had in attendance, the Director of Business Directorate, Dr. Richard W. Nartey Yeboah, The Deputy Director, Dr. Balma Issaka Yakubu, the Assistant Registrar at the Vive Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Rashid Yakubu and Representatives from the University Relations.
