A Profile of the Fastest Man (Athelete) in Ghana: Sarfo Ansah

Sarfo Ansah is a level 200 student offering BA Development Education Studies at the University for Development Studies, Tamale Campus. Sarfo was born on 30 July 1998. As part of the University scouting process, Master Sarfo Ansah was scouted in July 2017 due to his exploits from Jachie-Pramso Secondary School and the National Athletics Circuit games that year.  He is a specialized 100m & 200m sprinter. 

In January 2018, he won both the 100 and 200 meters race at the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games in Tamale. He also led the UDS team to place first in the final of the 4 x100 meters relay. These performances gave him a national call up into the national team for 2018 Australian Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast. He run along the likes of Yohan Blake in the heat of the 100m. 

He led Team UDS to maintain their title in the 4 × 100 meters relay in 2020 GUSA Games at University of Ghana whilst setting a new record with a time of 40.27s, beating the previous record which stood at 40.29s by the same team.
In April 2021 he became the fastest local champion in a Meet called the Fastest Human championship with a fastest local time ever which was 10:14s.

Again, in May 2021, he won gold in both 100 and 200 meters race at the ECOWAS Athletics Championships in Kaduna, Nigeria. He won the 100 meters race with a time of 10.24s and the 200 meters with 21.33s.

Sarfo Ansah got the opportunity to join the 2020 National relay team that represented Ghana at the Tokyo Olympics games that broke the 24 years old record of 38.12s with a new record of 38.08s
